5 Minute microwave cinnamon mug roll.
If you honestly CBA making the proper cinnamon rolls + look, that’s fine. Here’s one to hit that sweet spot. Without wading through the press to find loads of ingredients or having to run out to the shop, here’s a 5 minute, 5 ingredient (if you don’t count the icing) cinnamon roll recipe. It’s simple, it’s basic, but sometimes that’s all we need. I will admit.. I still ADORE a decent, yeasted, fluffy cinnamon roll and would make them, if I wasn’t living alone because let’s be honest, I’d eat the whole tray. I’ll get working on a really great recipe for those though I think. It’ll take a bit of testing because I want it to be perfect.
Anyway, you could make a cream cheese icing for these if you’d cream cheese chillin’ in the fridge or just leave ‘em nude. But, it’s kind of like adding earrings to an outfit. it just, I don’t know, finishes it off, fancies it up a little.
Give them a go, let me know how they go. Super ripe bananas are key. like, the brown ones, the ones you were about the throw in the compost, yeah, those. never ever put them in the bin/compost. SO MANY USES. Oh actually, before I let you make these, here’s another tip for using the brown bananas, peel them, chop them, pop them in a zip lock bag and freeze them, they’re there then at your beck and call for all your smoothie needs.
Enough for 1.
50g flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 ripe banana, mashed
1 tbsp light golden brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the icing:
1 tbsp icing sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
Mix the flour, baking powder and banana together in a small bowl. it’ll look a little crumbly but turn out onto a lightly floured surface and bring it together with your hands. roll out to a rectangle. it’ll be about 10” x 5”. Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon. roll from the short end, tightly. cut into four pieces and pop into your mug.
Put in the microwave for a 2 minutes.
Remove, mix the icing sugar and lemon juice together + drizzle/lather on top. Easy huh.
