19. The number of recipes in this book. The number of the day of the month I was born. The number of both beginnings and endings.
Travelling, its not about knocking off the sights from a list. For me, t’s to see how others live, how they cook and eat. What I learnt the most: how little I knew. I loved seeing how others live and be, how cooking food doesn’t have to be so rigid and strict, it’s free flowing and fun. I hope this book will allow others to open themselves up to how much there is to see in the world, how much there is to learn, but also, to enjoy the food we have, with the people we have in our lives.
It all begins with an idea. For me, it’s all about telling a story, a story of where the food came from, how it was cooked, how it was eaten. I think that’s why I do what I do, telling this through the imagery of food.
I guess, that I just wanted to share what I love with you guys. I wanted people to love being in the kitchen more, to love to cook and to share that experience with others, it’s the best part. You won’t find any difficult recipes in my book. I don’t love recipes with a gazillion ingredients so you won’t find that either, what you will find is a lot of love poured into every image and recipe, it’s what I love to make and eat that I hope you will too.
